QX16/4 LSZH is a high performance and exceptional quality bi-wireable oxygen free copper installation speaker cable with the added bonus of a fully certificated LSZH fire rated design. They deliver excellent levels of performance in all multi-room and home cinema installations.
LSZH cables are made from a special compound that performs as well as PVC insulation, but crucially gives off very little smoke and no halogen toxins in the event of a fire. It is now a standard requirement in building regulations that any newly installed speaker cable must be Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH). LSZH cable is only available in pink to make it easy for building inspectors to see if the correct cable is installed.
Basically, if it isn’t pink it doesn’t comply.

LOW SMOKE ZERO HALOGEN (LSZH)
Most cables feature PVC insulation, some have a basic fire rating such as CL3, etc. Unfortunately, most cables give off hazardous toxic smoke during a fire, posing a very serious health risk.
LSZH cables are made from a special compound that performs as well as PVC insulation, but crucially gives off very little smoke and no halogen toxins in the event of a fire.
Many leading architects and builders along with commercial and marine designers are now specifying LSZH spec cables as standard.

Test for vertical flame propagation for a single insulated wire or cable.
(Amendment1, 1997) test on gas evolved during combustion of electric cables.
Only LSZH cables meet the legislated fire specifications for boat installations.
